Our Commitment

GOM Signs builds signage that people need to be able to read, including ADA and wayfinding signage. We hold our own website to the same standard. We are working to conform gomsigns.com to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA.

What We Have Done

• A "skip to content" link so keyboard users can bypass the navigation
• Visible keyboard focus on every link, button, and form control
• Labels on every form field, with errors announced to screen readers and focus moved to the first field that needs attention
• Descriptive alternative text on portfolio and project photography, and decorative images hidden from screen readers
• A photo viewer that opens with the keyboard, traps focus while open, and closes with Escape
• Text and interface colors checked against WCAG AA contrast ratios in both the light and dark presentations of the site
• Reduced-motion support, so animations are suppressed when your system asks for that
• Headings in a logical order, and page landmarks a screen reader can navigate by

Ongoing Work

Accessibility is not a one-time project. We review new pages and new photography as we publish them, and we re-test the site when we make design changes. Some older portfolio photographs and third-party embedded content may still fall short, and we are working through them.
