Multi-tenant monuments with individual tenant panels sit in the same territory, with cost scaling by size and panel count. Adding an LED message center is the biggest single upgrade: depending on display size and resolution, plan on an additional $10,000 to $30,000 or more. It is also the upgrade with the clearest payback for churches, schools, and retail centers that change messaging weekly.
The Costs That Are Not the Sign
Monument projects have real site costs that storefront signs do not: a concrete foundation engineered for wind load, trenching electrical service to the sign location, and — in most jurisdictions — sealed engineering drawings for the permit. Setbacks from the right-of-way and visibility triangles at driveways are two of the biggest factors in where a sign can sit, and both vary by jurisdiction and site, and utility locates come before any digging. Getting It Approved
Monument signs face the strictest review of any sign type.
